8232 DECT Eeprom Layout

Table of Contents

1. Scope

The purpose of this document is to describe the EEPROM layout and default parameter settings.

2. Introduction

All hardware specific parameters must be set up before the unit leaves the factory. As some of the parameters are vital for the operation of the hardware, a set of default parameters must be programmed before the actual hardware fine-tuning can be initiated. This document lists all default parameters with a short description.

3. Understanding defaults

Basically two kinds of EEPROM defaults exist: the standard default and the factory default. The factory default presets the EEPROM to an initial state where all adjustment settings are typically lost. The standard default does not alter factory settings like frequency adjustment and charging levels. Furthermore, a number of levels exist. A level is a grouping of the standard and factory default. It's an attribute that can be applied to any EEPROM location. Currently 6 levels exists. If an EEPROM location is a member of factory default, for example level 4, it will only be defaulted if factory and level 4 is specified when a 'default' command is issued. A command in this sense means a call to the default-function in software. This is used to map the Seg parameter of the test-command NVM_INI to a set of EEPROM locations (please note that the level specified in the NVM_INI command is not the same as the level specified in this document). A location may be a member of more than one level, and the levels are also considered when an EEPROM checksum is calculated.

4. Layout

This section lists all EEPROM parameters with a short description.

4.1. Reading the layout table

4.1.1. Address Column

This column contains the EEPROM address.

4.1.2. Value Column

This column contains the actual default-value of the location. If the address column indicates an address range, the value column lists the values in address-order.

4.1.3. Type Column

This column specifies the default-type.

4.1.4. Name Column

This column contains the parameter name.

4.1.5. Description Column

This column contains a short parameter description.
